Fancy Nails!!
Matesse Elite - Solid Gold
Matesse Elite - Golden Pearl
Matesse Elite Nail Art Paint - Black
OPI - RapiDry Top Coat
1. Paint nails with two coats of Matesse Elite Solid Gold and allow to dry
2. Google image search “leopard print”!
3. Using Matesse Elite Golden Pearl apply the polish in irregular dots by holding the brush perpendicular to the nails and dotting the tips of the brush directly down on the nails. Be sure to wipe most of the polish of the brush so you can better control how much polish goes onto the nail.
4. Allow to dry
5. Using the Matesse Elite Nail Art Paint in Black make irregular black spots around the Golden Pearl polish trying to replicate the spot pattern of the leopard print image you presumably googled 3 steps ago.
6. Once the nails are mostly dry apply OPI RapiDry TopCoat to the entire nail.
Note: Don’t look at this and immediately assume you can’t do it. It looks much more difficult to do than it actually is. The spots should look irregular so the polish doesn’t have to be very precise, which is helpful when painting with your weaker hand.
When I was younger, I used to do that all the time… I still do it.
For those times, I wish my dogs weren’t small.

School
Tonight, sometime around 6:30, I will have completed my first week of classes in 4 years.
While it no longer terrifies me to come here, it does terrify me that I won’t be able to keep up with the work (not a problem so far). Tuesday, because of me not watching the clock, I was late to my two morning classes.
This morning, I stretched out my snooze button until my phone quit letting me press it. (I programmed it that way, but it still sucks). I’m dealing.
In about 15 minutes, I start speech class. I mean start it. I have to give a 2-3 minute presentation on Abraham Lincoln and why he is immortalized.
I do have to say one good thing though. Well, two. All my teachers know their shit and want to see me succeed. And second, this learning community I’m in for English Writing and Speech rocks. The same 13 people in my Writing class are in my Speech class. It makes for some very interesting conversations that start in Writing, and continue until speech.
And because I said I wanted snow, they’re blaming me for the cold that comes with the snow. I never said anything about the cold.
Anyway, time for class. Well, sorta.
This. Is. Awesome.

New Year’s resolutions
Usually I wait until the second of the year to even think of resolutions. This year, I’m trying it different. This year, I’m going to make resolutions before the new year.
My resolutions are:
- Cook more meals at home. This resolution comes about mainly because of my roommate/best friend. She got tired of fast food, and the one day we were both in the kitchen trying to think of what we wanted for dinner. Today marks the second meal we’re cooking together.
- Spend less time online and more time studying. This one is because the second week of the year, I start school. Again. It’s half really really exciting and half terrifying. I’ve been out of school since the spring of 2008. It’s going to be 2012. That’s 4 years.
- Spend more time with my family. I’m hoping by working on Resolution 1, I’ll get this one done, too. But I’m going to make an honest try to spend more time upstairs and with my mom and sister.
- Enjoy life. I finally feel like I have more confidence, more ambition to actually do things. I want to get out with friends, spend more time laughing, and feel good about myself.
- Get at least a B- in all my classes. Considering its my first semester back, I’m not going to put unreasonable expectations (A) on myself.
- Blog about food. I’ve been reading more blogs this year, and I want to continue that with, except I want to make my own. When I cook for Resolution 1, I plan on blogging about it, the process, the photos, and the completed product. Of course, if I ended up ruining it beyond recognition (kale chips), I will not be posting it.
Well, that’s my list of resolutions. If you want to, leave a message and tell me what yours are.
Pork roast and lasagna posts are coming soon. :)
